What advice would you give to a beginner?
Try not to compare yourself to anyone else in the room. Rest when you need to and keep breathing!
Where might we find you on your days off?
Hanging out with my awesome husband, Danny Solomon! Or in front of a piano, learning music- (I am currently training to be an opera singer.)
What are your most inspiring books, on yoga, spirituality, life etc…?
Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Creative Habit by Twyla Tharp.
How has your practice changed over the years?
It started out as very much as a way to get moving and improve strength and stamina. I was drawn to yoga that was fast paced and energetic, such as ashtanga, rocket and power yoga. Then I discovered yin yoga and realised how much more challenging it was for me to sit still rather than keep moving. Now I tend to do a much softer practice and spend more time in meditation.
If you only had 10 mins to do some yoga, what would you do?
Child’s pose, cat/cow, dangling, spine curls and meditation.
Do you have a favourite quote for us?
“In the end, only three things matter. How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of the things not meant for you.”
