Founded in 1993, The Life Centre is a friendly haven, where yoga and Pilates inspire well-being and a community spirit. We believe firmly in the values of community; we are an integral part of our local communities in Manchester and London, play our part in the wider UK yoga community, and, perhaps most importantly, help to create a community among our students and clients.
Who we are
The Life Centre is a friendly haven, where yoga and Pilates inspire well-being with a community spirit which lifts everyone working or visiting here.
We know how vital it is to have the best teachers and to offer a fantastic choice of yoga styles. We understand how to nurture relationships in our specialised classes like pregnancy yoga and how to ease newcomers into a regular practice, with our beginners’ courses. Plus, we run exciting workshops with resident and guest teachers whose experience and imagination brings a freshness to yoga on each occasion.
The Life Centre was founded in London in 1993, and is one of the UK's oldest centres dedicated to yoga and Pilates. The Life Centre North opened in Manchester in April 2016 with the aim of bringing the widest range of yoga and wellbeing classes and the best quality teaching to the North West. These aims are also reflected in our teacher training courses, provided by our sister company Yogacampus, which brings some of world’s most respected teachers together to provide a wide range of courses for those keen to share the benefits of yoga.
With a focus on meeting the full array of mind-body needs, the Life Centre North offers both specialised classes such as pregnancy yoga, yoga for anxiety and hot yoga - a class taught in a specialist studio heated to 40 degrees - as well as classes appealing to all levels from the total beginner to long term practitioners.
Inventive and inspiring classes and a community focussed studio are things The Life Centre has been proud to offer in London for many years and our move to Manchester is a direct result of demand in a city that is expanding tenfold, with more and more individuals looking to find somewhere to restore the balance in their hectic lifestyles.
We believe firmly in the values of community: by being an integral part of our local communities in Manchester and London, by playing our part in the wider UK yoga community, and, perhaps most importantly, by helping to create a community among our students, teachers and staff. At The Life Centre, you will be welcomed with a smile, and, after a few visits, probably greeted by name. We pride ourselves on employing friendly and knowledgeable staff with the experience to answer your questions about yoga and Pilates. We also believe that there is a yoga path for everyone: female or male, young or old, stiff or bendy; that that there are many authentic paths of yoga, all of which deserve respect; and that our teachers should be well trained, but should each retain their own unique style, approach and creativity. Above all, we believe that The Life Centre is about YOU!
Meet the Teachers
After dabbling with various types of yoga, Beth discovered Kundalini yoga on a retreat in Egypt in 2007 and quickly realised how powerful this practice was, making her feel great both during and after.
Kundalini yoga allowed her to reach a place of peace in a particularly difficult and stressful time in her life, and she soon realised that she wanted to share this life changing practice with others.
Beth’s classes are a dynamic blend of postures, pranayam(breathing), mantra and meditation, which will teach you the art of relaxation, self healing and mental elevation. Her passion for music and mantras is evident in her powerful and uplifting classes which are taught in a loving, warm and compassionate way.
