Join Andrea Everingham, Manchester’s ‘warrior Jiva queen’ for this 2.5 hour explorative session – journeying through lighter backbends into deeper asanas such as one-legged King Pigeon Pose, Scorpion, yoga splits/Hanumanasana and Pincha Mayurasana.

Backbends require power to move into and openness to feel that deep warm sense of freedom in the muscles of the chest. The anterior (front) spine is generously stretched, while the posterior (back) spine is strengthened.

Experience a sense of balance in the front and backline of the body, releasing not only physical and emotional tensions, but a feeling of refreshing the central nervous system and filling this hub of love with life-force/prana/chi/energy.

Some prior experience of practising backbends, such as bridge pose recommended.
