Yin Yoga Workshop
A transformative afternoon, exploring the powerful practice of Yin Yoga.
Most yoga practiced in the West is ‘Yang’ in nature, exercising the muscles. Yin Yoga aims to stretch the joints, fascia and connective tissue by sitting in postures for long periods of time (around 5-7 minutes) allowing the muscles to relax. Yin yoga is a perfect complement to Yang yoga, as it helps to keep the joints supple, making them less prone to injury.
In this workshop, husband and wife yoga teachers Danny and Fiona will explain the fundamental principles of Yin Yoga and how it can support your regular asana practice. They will guide you through postures that target the joints most used in vinyasa yoga, and explain how you can use certain postures to address physical, energetic and emotional blocks in your life. The workshop will end with meditation and a chakra balancing sound bowl relaxation.
Suitable for all levels
Meet the Teachers
Donna’s spiritual journey began after experiencing a solar eclipse in India in 1995.
Shortly after that, she took a silent Vipassana retreat followed by a number of others, which changed her as a person and prepared her for when she found yoga, via an Ashtanga Vinyasa class which she happened across on her way to the beach in Goa in 1998.
